Search

Use this page to jump to anything in Alloy, or hand a question to the agent, from any screen.

Alloy has a unified search that lets you find anything across the platform (or hand your question straight to the agent) without leaving the page you're on.

Opening search

Open the search dialog from anywhere in Alloy:

• Click Search at the top of the sidebar
• Press Ctrl+K (or ⌘K on Mac)

A search overlay appears on top of whatever page you're on. Press Esc to close it.

How it works

Type what you're looking for. As you type, the search dialog shows instant results from across the platform, grouped by type:

• Missions: matches against mission names, descriptions, summaries, key events, comments, and metadata
• Reports: matches against report titles and content
• Scenarios: matches against scenarios and their matches
• Chats: matches against the titles of your chats with the agent
• Devices and Data: your Alloy Edge devices and Mesh Storage files, if your organisation has Mesh Storage

If one of these results is what you're looking for, click it to jump straight there.

For anything deeper, press Enter or select Ask AI about "…" at the top of the results. Alloy opens your question in a new chat with the agent on the Home page. This is the fastest way to ask about your data: a specific mission, a log pattern, images that match a description, or a trend across your fleet.

For example:

• "images of standing water in front of the robot": the agent searches your missions' images by what is visible
• "battery issues during outdoor missions": the agent finds and summarises relevant events
• "GPS accuracy trends over the last month": the agent runs the analysis and shows you the results

Filtering by type

To narrow the instant results to a single category, type the start of a category name (for example "miss" for missions or "rep" for reports). When Search Missions only appears, press Tab to apply the filter. You can also type a prefix such as missions: or m: before your search. A badge appears in the search bar showing the active filter. Press Backspace on an empty search to remove it.

Searching inside your recordings

Instant results match names and text. To find a moment inside your recordings, ask the agent. Describe what happened in plain words. It looks through logs, camera images and signal data, then answers with the mission and the time:

• "find all moments where the robot detected an obstacle"
• "show me where GPS signal was lost"
• "images of rocky coastline from last week's surveys"
