Get Started

Work with an always-on agent

The agent runs around the clock, on many things at once. Four habits that get the most from it.

The agent does not need your laptop, your attention or your working hours. It runs on servers, not on your machine, keeps going after you close the tab, and works on many investigations at the same time. These four habits make the most of that.

Alloy runs the agent in its cloud by default. Teams with their own security requirements can run it in a dedicated environment. See Security and trust.

Hand it off and check back

Start an investigation, then go back to your work. Close the tab if you like. Alloy notifies you when the answer is ready.

  • At the end of the day: "Compare today's runs with yesterday's, and flag anything that got worse." Read the answer in the morning.
  • Before a meeting: ask for the report you need, and open it when you sit down.

See Investigate a robot issue.

Set it to watch

Some work should happen on every run, with no one asking.

  • A recurring report reviews each new mission, or runs on a schedule.
  • A scenario checks every new run for a failure you have seen before.

An overnight test campaign has a report on every run by morning.

Ask in parallel

You do not have to wait for one answer before you ask the next question.

  • One question per robot. Open a chat for each robot that misbehaved this week. They all run at the same time.
  • One question across the fleet. "Which robots showed this fault since release 5.3?" covers every robot and every run in one go.
  • One question per ticket. Each Slack thread and Jira ticket gets its own investigation.

Let it take the first pass

Field issues arrive at all hours. With a support role in Slack or Jira, the agent answers each new issue as it arrives, at 2 a.m. or on a Sunday. Your team starts from the evidence, not from a raw log.

See Answer field issues in Slack and Jira.

What it costs

Alloy uses a credit-based plan. Investigations, reports and checks use credits, and your team can run as much in parallel as your credits allow. For details, talk to us.
