Watch for a known failure
Describe a failure pattern once, and every new run is checked for it.
Turn a failure you have found into a scenario. Alloy checks each new mission for it, and searches past runs too, so you see how often it happens and whether a fix worked.
When to use it
- You found a failure and want to know if it comes back.
- You shipped a fix and want proof it worked.
- You want to find every log where something specific happened.
How to do it
- Go to Scenarios and click Create. The agent opens in the chat panel.
- Describe the pattern in plain words: "the front-left foot touches down more than 30 ms early".
- The agent agrees a precise definition with you, then creates the scenario.
- Choose how far back to search. By default, Alloy checks the previous 7 days, up to 90 days.
- Open the scenario to see each match, with the mission, the time and the reason.
You can also ask from any investigation: "watch for this on every new run".
Example
Fictional example.
After the QP-07 stair slip, the engineer creates the scenario "early front-left touch-down on a step edge". It finds 4 matches in the past week, all on release 5.3. After the fix ships, new runs show no matches.
Tips
- Describe what the data shows, not the cause.
- Keep one pattern per scenario.
